ブラウンフィールドと都市再生に関する日英シンポジウム
Anglo-Japan Symposium on Brownfield Regeneration 2010

ブラウンフィールドとは、これまでに開発され現在では使われなくなった土地のことを言い工場跡地などで土壌汚染が懸念される土地である場合も含まれる。持続可能な社会を構築するためには、新たな自然地や森林などの開発を控え、このような土地の利用可能性を高めることはきわめて重要である。
本シンポジウムでは、昨今の経済不況下において、企業の設備投資や土地の流動性が低下する中で日英両国のブラウンフィールドと都市再生に関する取組みを紹介し、互いの経験を共有することで今後の持続可能な都市再生に資することを目的とする。
